Chintan Patel focuses on preparing and prosecuting patents directed to electrical technologies, with a particular concentration in automotive and mobile innovations. Chintan performs patentability and clearance searches at the USPTO and, in addition, conducts legal research and provides prosecution support.
Prior to pursuing a career in intellectual property law, Chintan served as both a systems engineer and application engineer for two large automotive companies. As a 4x4 Systems Engineer, Chintan developed and implemented robust control strategies and algorithms for various all-wheel-drive and transfer case systems. As an Application Engineer, Chintan executed designs of wiper systems according to vehicle requirements. While in the role, he also analyzed and solved vehicle system and component level issues and regularly worked with suppliers on an international level.
Chintan obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan-Dearborn where he received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering in 2010. He then went on to Michigan State University Law School where he received his J.D. in 2017.
