2018 A Year in Review

Southfield, MI (December 20, 2018) – As 2018 comes to a close, we reflect on all the exciting changes that have happened throughout the year:

Moved to a New Office in Southfield, MI

This year commenced in our new office in Southfield, Michigan. The new space allowed for more room to grow the firm and an ideal location for our clients. A video tour of the office is found on the Bejin Bieneman YouTube page

Daniel Hegner Presented on Functional Claiming Around the Nation

Throughout the year, Daniel Hegner, member of Bejin Bieneman PLC, had various opportunities to travel around the U.S. to give a presentation to different IP organizations on the topic of functional patent claims. As part of his talks, Mr. Hegner also delivered the presentation on Bejin Bieneman’s B2 IP Webinar series in October. A recording of the presentation is found on the Bejin Bieneman YouTube page

Welcomed Two Attorneys and One Law Clerk to the Firm

This year Bejin Bieneman welcomed two attorneys and one law clerk to the firm. David Hannon joined as Of Counsel, Chintan Patel joined as an associate and Brittany Leigh joined as a Law Clerk.

Hosted 6thAnnual IP Seminar at the Detroit Athletic Club

On September 13, 2018, Bejin Bieneman PLC along with Dennemeyer IP Group hosted its 6th annual IP Seminar at the Detroit Athletic Club (DAC). This year’s theme was Trends and Best Practices for Global Patent Management. One panel of speakers included outside counsel who discussed patent issues experienced by U.S. clients in Europe, China, and Japan, and the other panel included U.S. in-house counsel who discussed global issues from a U.S. corporate aspect. The outcome was excellent. A recording of the presentations is found on the Bejin Bieneman YouTube page. We look forward to hosting next year’s event.

Record Attendance on Monthly B2 IP Webinars

In 2016, Bejin Bieneman launched a webinar series, B2 IP Webinar, that covers an array of topics relating to U.S. patent practice. The typical structure of the webinar consists of one attorney who presents on a topic that is prevalent to the intellectual property law world. The webinars are eligible for CLE credit in various states. The 2018 series saw record attendance and a highly engaged online audience. The 2019 series kicks off with David Hannon presenting on: Decision Points for US Brand Owners Pursing a Trademark Portfolio in China.
